I met this incredibly-in-love couple on last day of August to celebrate their fresh engagement in the streets of Stockholm. They're both Americans but as one of them spent significant time in Sweden, working and exploring, they decided that Stockholm would be a perfect place for their engagement session.
unique corners & breathtaking architecture
Rae had this wonderful statement red dress on when we met and I really wanted to do it justice. So I had her interact with it as they moved around some of my favourite streets and beautiful corners of Vasastan. I didn't want to intrude much on their moments so I just told her to engage with the skirt as she walked, gave a few suggestions and let her make it her own. I loved to watch how she really leaned into it, giving the photos extra lively tone!
last-minute decision that made us appear in the right place at the right time!
We were originally bound for route towards Gamla Stan. Meeting right outside of Parliament building I planned to just crossed over to it directly. But as we moved around the streets surrounding the Parliament area something told me we should make a different turn. It was a split of a moment decision as I decided to listen to my intuition that after years of shooting in the city told me that there might be a magic awaiting...so instead I took the couple through the beautiful Vasa bridge with views over to Parliament House on one side, Gamla Stan roofs in front of us and City Hall on the other side.
The couple literally danced through this path, interacting in a way that was, as they told me, specific for them. They loved to dance together and even attended dancing classes together! This wasn't my first couple who had dance moves as their love language. I am always so thrilled when you know immediately what defines you and want to make that part of your photos. In the end, that's what makes your photos truly about YOU ♥.

Rain & Coziness
As we got to the Vasa bridge it started to rain a bit and I was ready with my famous see-through umbrella! I handed it over to the couple and what unfolded was just a lot of closeness and coziness from underneath. Rainy photos are so special, contributing to that extra cozy vibe, making you cuddle under one umbrella, which makes moments & photos be filled even more love!
This was the couple's real interaction from which all of their photos unfolded. Two people in love, unfazed by crowds and passing cars, just so into each other. This will always be more valuable than trying to control you or pose you into something that, in the end, wouldn't speak of your essence.
...When The Magic Happens...
As we were walking the bridge, my intuition did not let me down. The sky all of a sudden cracked open and all the colors of that evening sun came through, making its way right through the tower of the City Hall, shining on us in between the raindrops.

As we finally made our way to Gamla Stan, it was a perfect timing for this location as the sky turned into a pink cotton, colouring the city in that magical magenta tone. And as the couple chased each other and walked hand in hand through the island, I revelled in documenting their intoxicating love.
Until the nightfall
The couple chased each other and played well into the night. Once the evening fell and all the lights from restaurants and cafes started to flicker, the vibe changed into a mysterious romantic walk and I couldn't just yet say goodbye to them, potentially missing on these amazing moments.
After we were ready to wrap it up, we said goodbye to each other and I left the couple in a good mood to enjoy a romantic dinner in Gamla Stan, continuing on celebrating their engagement.
