I can't imagine more perfect way to celebrate new life forming, when the belly's growing, than in the haze of romantic August sunsets, roaming rye fields and countryside roads and family cuddles on the beach long after sun is gone...
That's what we did here for mom to be Bella, her husband Mathias and their dog Crusoe.
Bella & Mathias are good friends of mine and so it felt extra special to be documenting this important milestone in their lives.
it's about you & your vision
When I talked to Bella about her vision for the photo shoot, her heart was set on capturing these moments during sunset hour. She wanted to make it romantic and about her & Mathias as couple, but also wanted to include their dog into some parts of the session. So I created two different scenarios and planned everything to its tiniest details so that it would work exactly the way she imagined.

For the part where Bella & Mathias spent a few moments together, just on their own, we opted for romantic rye fields that were just goldening around that time.
I purposefully planned this part around the time when the first early evening light hit as it looked much more powerful as it spread over the fields than the actual sunset hour. We also wanted to make it the location no 2 for sunset so it was a perfect match for coordinating our 2 scenarios!

Happy place that defines you
We made it to the second location just in time for sunset. It's a tiny streak of sandy beach with an archipelago vibe and it's where we spend a lot of evenings just watching our dogs play together. The spot means a lot both to me and Bella & Mathias so it was a perfect and obvious choice of location for the part where they wanted to include their dog Crusoe.
I had my husband bring Crusoe down to the beach once we were done shooting in rye fields and I just had them interact with Crusoe, play & cuddle.
