Satisfying Children's Wanderlust Feet

I met this lovely family for the second time at gardens of Ulriksdal Palace, their favourite spot where they used to spend many happy moments.
Little Mila did not disappoint and took care of all the fun. It was a truly touching moment to meet her again because the second she saw me she immediately got into her role and started to run around, offering hugs and cuddles, indulging her parents in small simple joys of May evening spent among dandelions.
Best Moments to Capture Are The Real Ones...
For this photoshoot we didn't plan any complicated activities. It was enough to meet at the family's happy place during an evening sun and let Mila and her dog Nova find what enticed them most in that moment. Here & there I offered suggestions to Mila of little games and explorings and she gratefully took it and made it her own as kids usually do. That by itself lead to many touching moments happening between her and the rest of the family.
Kids are very receptive when they're encouraged to be themselves and will always take suggestions to engage their parents in little silly games and lots of running around. It's what makes the whole family beautifully present and focused on one another in truly genuine way which in return makes for the most natural and truly raw photos telling the story of your family as it unfolded in that moment.
I saw how much Mila wanted to run around when we started so I suggested for her to run towards me trying to touch as many lilacs as possible
As we were blowing into dandelions, Mila took it upon herself to find the most perfect one to blow into. Her mom unexpectedly pulled out the one with a super long stem, which made little Mila giggle and this sweet moment came to life!
All the dandelions made Mila so happy and filled her with so much love that she ran into her mother's arms to offer a few cuddles.
Little Quests and Tiny Games

The most important focus of the documentary photoshoot is to capture your true personality. I therefore always observe your family, the way you interact, what entices your children and what brings most smiles.
As Sophie, the mom of the family, shared in the beginning of our photoshoot, her daughter Mila was in a period where everything was more fun when made into a little race!
I decided to go with it and encouraged her to race her parents and run around as a little aeroplane with hands spread.

Anytime I find myself shooting at popular locations, just like gardens of Ulriksdal Palace where we met for this photoshoot, I always search to add some spot within the location that no one knows about or isn't that frequented.
In this case, I found a huge field where all the evening sun was hiding, right outside the gardens, just perfect for that family shenanigans in a spring evening.
